What is BLUE Longevity?
BLUE Longevity is a nutrient-rich, optimal-calorie diet designed to help keep your dog lean and healthy throughout his life.
Why should I consider Longevity for my dog?
Research shows that obesity is affecting more and more dogs these days—as many as half of all dogs. What’s more, dogs that are overweight or obese are expected to live shorter lives than fitter, normal weight dogs. Learn more about what the experts are saying.
That’s why keeping your dog at his ideal weight is so important. BLUE Longevity is formulated with nutrient-rich foods with low caloric density. So your dog gets the nutrition he needs without gaining unhealthy weight.
What if my dog isn’t overweight?
BLUE Longevity for dogs is not a short-term diet food, but rather a lifelong feeding system that is formulated to help your furry friend achieve—and maintain—his ideal weight so he can live a lean and healthy life.
What is the Lifelong Feeding System?
BLUE Longevity dog food is designed to keep our dogs lean and healthy from puppyhood, through their active adult years and into senior citizenship. That’s why we’ve created BLUE Longevity for Puppies, BLUE Longevity for Adult Dogs and BLUE Longevity for Mature Dogs so that your dog can easily transition to the Longevity formula that is appropriate for his life stage.
Can I start feeding my dog BLUE Longevity as an adult or in his mature years?
Absolutely. Whether your dog is an adult or mature, BLUE Longevity provides benefits for each stage of your dog’s life—and it’s never too late for him to start living healthy. Like any healthy eating program, the earlier you start and the longer you stay with it, the more your dog will benefit.
What are “low caloric density” foods?
These are foods that provide fewer calories in each bite, but help “fill him up” to satisfy his hunger. Lean proteins are considered to be low in caloric density, as well as whole grain foods like brown rice and oatmeal, and fruits and vegetables like peas, carrots, apples and blueberries.
What are antioxidants and what do they do?
An antioxidant is a molecule capable of slowing or preventing the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that transfers electrons from a substance to an oxidizing agent. Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals, which start chain reactions that damage cells. Antioxidants terminate these chain reactions by removing free radical intermediates, and inhibit other oxidation reactions by being oxidized themselves, preventing or limiting the damage to healthy cells caused by free radicals.
What are LifeSource® Bits?
LifeSource Bits contain a precise blend of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants selected by holistic veterinarians and animal nutritionists. These include ingredients that help support your dog’s immune system, promote his specific life stage requirements and maintain a healthy oxidative balance.
Plus, unlike other brands that add vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, we cold-form LifeSource Bits to help maintain the full nutritional potency of their nutrients. This is an important difference between BLUE and all the other brands because other brands process their foods exclusively at high temperatures, and heat can destroy the potency of nutrients by up to 75%.
Does BLUE Longevity contain any chicken or poultry by-product meals?
BLUE Longevity does not contain chicken or poultry by-product meals. What’s more, BLUE Longevity dog food contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors and no corn, wheat or soy because they have been known to cause allergies in dogs.
