Whitefish
Whitefish consists of non-rendered, deboned, clean whitefish meat. An excellent source of protein, as well as niacin, phosphorus and selenium, whitefish is also low in sodium.

Oatmeal
Oatmeal is an excellent carbohydrate source for energy. It is a high quality grain source that is rich in B vitamins and minimizes allergic reactions typically associated with wheat and corn. Whole oats are the whole grain with hull and brand. Oatmeal is known to help protect against heart disease, diabetes and cancer as well as help to lower cholesterol and maintain the proper levels of blood sugar.

Peas
BLUE uses fresh, green peas. A good source of protein and Vitamin A. Peas are packed with fiber to help manage cholesterol and blood sugar. Also a good source of potassium.

Egg
Egg is a source of high quality protein and fatty acids. It is a complete protein source providing all the essential amino acids contributing to growth and muscle development. The fatty acid profile includes arachidonic acid, and Omega 6 fatty acids associated with healthy skin and coat. The eggs used in BLUE products are whole and fresh from USDA approved facilities.

Rice Bran
The outer husk and germ of the rice grain that is a good fiber source, as well as one of the richest sources of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Carrots
Carrots provide antioxidants and health protecting phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals. They are high in Vitamin A and carotenoids. Carotenoids are antioxidants providing protection against free radicals (cancer causing agents). The carrots used in BLUE dog and cat foods are whole fresh carrots sourced from approved USDA sources.

Broccoli
Broccoli is rich in Vitamins A & C, calcium and an excellent source of antioxidants.

Apples
An excellent source of pectin, a water-soluble fiber.

Blueberries
Blueberries are an excellent source of Vitamins A & C, potassium, and fiber.

Cranberries
An antioxidant that fights free radicals (toxins) in the body; a natural acidifier that contributes to urinary tract health, preventing bacterial infection in the urinary tract, and aid in the prevention of struvite crystals in the bladder and urethra.

Barley Grass
A good source of chlorophyll, fiber and phytochemicals. It has been known to be beneficial in the treatment of arthritis, diabetes, kidney, liver disease, and cancer.

Turmeric
Turmeric is an herb associated with aiding digestion by helping to stimulate the flow of bile, which helps digest fat.

Dried Kelp
Kelp is a good source of essential vitamins and minerals (including iodine). It is a good antioxidant and has been known to be beneficial in helping to protect against cancer.

Alfalfa
Alfalfa is one of the richest mineral foods containing abundant amounts of trace minerals (zinc, iron and manganese), vitamins (Vitamin A, Vitamin C) nutrients needed by dogs and cats to sustain well-being.

Parsley
Fresh parsley is an herb associated with reducing urinary tract inflammation, aids in digestion and increases renal function to help the body dispose of excessive fluid by increasing urine production. It also contains Vitamin A and Vitamin C, vitamins associated with antioxidant properties.

Garlic
A natural antioxidant that can help thin the blood; helps strengthen the heart and maintain good circulation; has natural antibiotic properties from allicin.

Herring Oil (source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids)
Fats and fatty acids are the energy source for the body. BLUE uses herring oil, which is an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids.

L-Carnitine
Carnitine is an amino acid that increases fat metabolism, lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Also promotes enhanced endurance.

L-Lysine
Needed for proper growth and bone development. Aids in the production of antibodies, hormones, and enzymes as well as collagen formation and tissue repair.

Taurine
Taurine is an amino acid required by cats and kittens. It is associated with growth, eye health, and cardiac health.

Beta-Carotene
Beta-Carotene plays an important role in animal health as a precursor of Vitamin A, which is an essential nutrient needed for normal growth development, reproduction, immune function, and vision. In addition to its role as a precursor of Vitamin A, it also acts as an antioxidant and a potent quencher of singlet oxygen. Singlet oxygen and free radicals are unstable chemical species that can arise from normal body metabolism or from environmental exposure to cigarette smoke, air pollutants, radiation, certain drugs and environmental toxins, and if not neutralized can cause serious cellular damage leading to certain chronic diseases.

Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Riboflavin is important for the digestion of fats and carbohydrates and for healthy skin and coat. Key for normal growth and development.

Niacin (Vitamin B3)
Vitamin B3 is also called Nicotinic Acid or Nicotinamide. It is essential for healthy nerves and skin. It is important in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and reduces cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Important for the proper health of the central nervous and GI systems.

Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6)
Vitamin B6 is essential for the metabolism of proteins. It acts as a cofactor for the large hydrochloride number of enzymes involved in amino acid and metabolism. It is also involved in the metabolism of the precursor of heme—a compound of blood that helps in the normal function of the brain.

Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)
A water soluble B-vitamin that plays an important role in various cellular functions.

Vitamin B12 Supplement
Vitamin B12 is a coenzyme in nucleic acid, protein and lipid synthesis. It is necessary for growth. Necessary for normal processing of carbohydrates, protein, and fat in the body.

Iron Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Iron)
Iron is an essential mineral for preventing anemia, stimulating bone-marrow production of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the red-blood cell pigment that carries oxygen to body cells and forms part of several enzymes and proteins.

A mineral compound that is commonly used as a calcium supplement.

Sodium Selenite
Sodium Selenite is a source of selenium. Selenium is important to healthy muscles and nerves. It is also important in fertility and enhances the antioxidant characteristics of Vitamin E.

Choline Chloride
Choline Chloride protects nerve function and maintains fat metabolism. Also helps regulate the liver and helps maintain acid and water balance.
